As you approach this area, while cruising in your boat, you’ll come across jetting white sandbanks with an abundance of marine life. This well kept secret of the Abaco Chain is located only six miles north of Cherokee Sound or six miles south of Marsh Harbour. The clear Turquoise Sea of Abaco allows for easy viewing of some of the largest Sea Stars and Sand Dollars you have ever seen. Please don’t remove them, as they are a special part of our best-kept secret.

Tilloo Cay and Channel Cay are individual private islands offering their guests a true out island experience. Please respect the privacy of each of these locations and do not intrude upon the properties.

Please note, the pictures within this section have been taken from the properties that we represent within this area.

On the east and southern end of Tilloo Cay there are private white sands banks jetting into the sea that guests of Tip-O-Tilloo will enjoy, while on the west side the views of the vast Atlantic Ocean and blow hole are extensive.

Channel Cay is surrounded by the Sea of Abaco offering its guests their own private beach on the west side and beautiful views to the east overlooking the sea, Tilloo Cut and Atlantic Ocean.

Tilloo Cay and Channel Cay are located within five minutes in your boat to a wonderful National Sea Park, “Sandy Cay Reef and Pelican Cays Land and Sea Park” This unique 2000 acre land and sea park contains beautiful underwater caves, extensive coral reefs and abounds with terrestrial plant and animal life

The National Sea Park is a very interesting Eco-tourism area with an abundance of underwater coral life including plenty of Elk Horn coral. The sea life is fantastic including spotter rays, giant sea turtles and grouper, plant life, bird life, and provides a nesting area for many of the birds.

Sandy Cay almost cuts in two, about half way on this Cay during high tide. The low narrow beach covered by the sea makes this look like two islands during high tide.

There are some permanent moorings placed along the eastern shore side. These moorings are intended for the basic rental boat size, no large cruising boats. To protect our reefs, anchoring is not allowed within any of the reef areas. Although, the snorkeling is interesting all along this reef, you must go just north of the little rocky island (about half way on the eastern side of Sandy Cay); this area is just unbelievable. Only one can appreciate the beauty if they have been there. Or try a stroll during low tide on the narrow beach between sand dunes and coral for a walk to the other side of Sandy Cay. Even if the surf is breaking you will enjoy fine snorkeling on this inside reef. Note, the further you swim out, the more spectacular the reef becomes. We were told that a famous undersea explorer from France praised highly about this reef as one of the most beautiful in North America. Please watch for strong tides that can occur in this area. We find it best to go during slack tide.

Pelican Cays beach is shaped as a convex curve and turns a corner, extending east of the shoal, and south of the shoal. This is a nice beach for swimming, shelling, beachcombing or relaxing in the sun. Most likely you will be the only soles around. We enjoyed this beach the best but within this area you will find you&39;re own perfect beaches too. The northern part of the Pelican Cays has some interesting ruins if you enjoy exploring.

Pelican Cays Land and Sea Park is protected and maintained by the Bahamas National Trust. Their purpose is to help perpetuate conservation, science and education, aesthetic values and offer a first rate recreational area. Enjoy it but help them achieve this noble objective by respecting it. Please take as many pictures as you like…but please remember no spearing, fishing, touching or removal of any marine, plant, or wild life. If we all obey these simple rules, our future children will get to enjoy this secret paradise of the Abaco Chain.

The cut between the southern end of Tilloo Cay and most northern Pelican Cay allows for easy access into the Atlantic for your reef and deep-sea fishing from both of these Cays. A short boat ride to Cherokee Sound will also bring you to some of the best bone fishing in the area.

Exploring our nature environment is a fun and exciting activity for all to enjoy. The Abaco Islands have many National Parks, nature centers, sea and land parks, which will satisfy the most demanding nature lover. Within our natural beauty you will find an array of wildlife, plants, reefs, blue holes and underwater cave systems. We invite you to stay with us at one of the properties in this area so you may also experience first hand what a special paradise this area truly is.
